A Brief History

Top Coat was incorporated in 1989, beginning with 5 employees. The charter employers of the corporation were George W. Stanley, John Wilkerson, Ron Montgomery, Barbara Wilkerson and Glen Tant. George Stanley began painting industrial parts after graduating from Southern High School in 1960. He had completed almost 30 years in the industry when he began organizing the business in 1989. After many years of personal experience as employees the charter members wanted to provide themselves and future employees with an employer that empathized with their daily concerns. We have grown from 5 employees to just over 25 employees. Sales had grown from $327,000 in 1989 to over 1.3 million dollars in 1997. Through the years since then Top Coat Inc. has weathered the down fall in the economy and has rose above all tribulation and continue to successfully thrive today.
